More Weddings!

I cannot believe how many of my friends have either just been married or had children. Life, Change, Progression, Love, Marriage, Children and stuff...

Makes me wonder if there is anything wrong with me, but then I see them argue and I rejoice. I'm kidding of course.

Anyways, as per my itinerary for this weekend, it all was achieved and now I am having an excellent bottle of Shiraz, Manara Rock 2004 to be exact. Try it.

Here are a couple of pics of my friends wedding that I filmed today, I ripped them out of Premiere.

The LDC

I found this today, for all of you interested in Leadership at a senior management level. This is NZ based.

The fire from within

An amazing book written by Carlos Catenada, yes, the guy who wrote 'The teachings of Don Juan', don't know it? get it and have a read, I'm sure it will challenge your ideas on life or at least turn you against psychoactive drugs.

In a greater sense of the term ' The fire from within' can relate to passion and personal desires, and so, it is with that, that I should make reference and add my congratulations to a friend of mine whom has found a partner in marriage and will find sanctuary and peace in marriage.

Check out the pics, and one again, congratulations.

Peace, The Retail Manager.

Recruitment

It's staff recruitment time again, we have had a resignation that increases the joy of most and leaves a hole in the team and several positions vacant.

I've used seek.co.nz to place an ad and the results I'd have to say are pretty miserable.

I ask for a cover letter and an updated CV and in most cases do not receive a cover letter, read the ad people!

Of those who have applied, I'm surprised that they call an assistant managers position in a coffee shop relevant experience to leading a team of 20 souls.

Most applicants have degrees which I doubt has been solidified with appropriate enough experience to turn their knowledge in to wisdom.

Still, I must persevere and hope that we find a relevant candidate and soon.

A good friend of mine relayed similar experiences where on receiving a resignation, they reviewed the job of the person leaving and worked out how to redistribute some of the work to others and pay them appropriately.

A good idea that I'll investigate but we still need minimum levels for coverage.
