I went to my local liquor store today get a bottle of Shiraz and some Wild Turkey and Dry premixes.
Yummy.
The shop was empty.
The lady at the front greeted me as I entered.
Sweet. One point.
I selected my products and went to pay.
As I put my bottles down the lady processed my order and the phone rang.
So in the middle of the sale, she picked it up and answered.
And had a little chat to a friend who had called.
They were going to the 9:25pm session of Die Hard 4.0.
They were going to meet at the Dispensary bar for a drink, and then go in.
She quickly glanced at me as though my presence had created a rift of darkness within her life and said to her mate that she had to go.
She then told me how much to pay and accordingly I did.
I walked away with my product.
I thought that she was a plonker.
What ever did happen to customer service?
I am convinced that all NZ businesses are raking in the cash - and that customer service is of little consequence.
I am wondering if a continued career in retail management is really so difficult since this is the standard.
Sweet as ow. I can do that.
Peace.
