Xmas: Retailing towards the masses

Amazingly trendsetters, I am surprised at how the masses of pre-xmas behaviour influences the droves of people coming in to the store in which I work.

I've experienced the xmas rush before in other jobs but this shit is nuts.

I mean, we are going over 100k per day here...

Our competition are voicing their complaints to staff on the floor...

Our suppliers are giving us preferential supply plans after just weeks of trading...

We are going hardcore, an I'm riding the pulse of it.

But the air of craziness is in itself overwhelming, kids demand ipods and mp3 players from their folks, they demand laptops, portable dvd players and digital cameras and the parents abide.

When I was that age I got books from my parents...

The children now... damn.

I was obviously born a couple of generations too late - but then, perhaps I was on the pulse then and now is merely a change in the conscious processes that govern these growing generations?

Just a thought.

We have 22:00 and 00:00 closes for the next week so it is going to be ultra hard core.
